I echo the words of Isaiah 26:8, "Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws,we wait for you;
YOUR NAME AND RENOWN ARE THE DESIRE OF OUR HEARTS." I though...Your posts have been really good lately. I thought you should know that.

They tell you when you are singing in church that you are worshiping for the audience of One (meaning, I presume, God). I wonder if sometimes when we write, it is also for the audience of One?

Actually, I do not want to become famous. I think I did at one point, though. I used to be in plays in high school, and I thought it was really fun to be on stage, and to accept applause after a performance. But in my older age, I truly do not enjoy being looked at, and I would much rather have fortune than fame--I would rather have plenty of money to spend at the grocery store than be recognized by the other shoppers in the store. Seriously. Is there even a question?

I would like to be a published author, mostly because it would be a way to make some money without (ideally) leaving my home. The irony is that I am not famous, and therefore will probably never be published. I wrote a couple of really decent children's books, back in the day, but I am under no illusion that they will ever be published. It isn't about how good the book is; it's about who you know (whom you know, if you want to get picky).

Madonna writes a children's book and the little Italian grandmas in Syracuse flock to Barnes & Noble saying, "We have to get this book for Alexia/Brianna/Nicole because MADONNA wrote it." And I scratch my head and wonder how that thought process ever worked itself out between their ears, but that is the way life works. If you are Madonna, you can write anything and people will buy it because you are famous. If you are not Madonna, you could write the best children's story ever told, and nobody would ever so much as glance at the manuscript.

Of course this is cynical and does not allow for the grace of God to work out the plan of God, and we know that God does in fact work out His will. So I guess if He puts a burden on you to, say, write a blog, then there is a reason for that, and purpose in your writing it. You don't have to worry about becoming famous. You just have to write (or teach or preach or whatever) what God puts on your heart, trusting that He will use it as He sees fit. And if only one soul is touched, comforted, or awakened to truth, maybe that is it. And if that is God's plan, it is also enough.ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15293058709021665140noreply@blogger.com
